The Thermos Funtainer is BPA free.  BPA (Bisphenol A) is a chemical found in many plastic products, and is used to harden plastics and make them shatterproof.  There is evidence suggesting that exposure at a young age (eg through bottles and food containers containing BPA) is linked to behavioural and neurological problems at a later age.  Canada has banned the use of the carcinogen BPA in baby bottles.
