You'll remember that as a part of the charter we set for ourselves in October 07, Generation Wonder makes loans to entrepreneurs working their way out of poverty, each month, via www.Kiva.org.  It's not a handout, it's a hand up.  In less than a year, 4 of the 11 loans we've made so far have been fully paid back.  The rest are on their way!  How marvellous is that??  Now we get to re-loan the money we've been paid back.  This is so uplifting!! Have you tried it yet?  Log on to www.kiva.org and read all about it.

The last 4 loans we did for May, June, July and August 08 are listed below.  You can read more about them all on the Generation Wonder Lender Page at Kiva.

Meet Torn Lim from Cambodia, a widow and mother of five adopted children, earning money through her silk weaving business.
Meet German Yudiz of Paraguay, a young father building up his mechanical repair business with the purchase of oils and lubricants.
Meet the Mejeres de Potrero Group from Paraguay, 18 women from the one neighbourhood, selling goods from their homes and stalls.
Meet Eal Nub, a 32 year mother of 3 in Cambodia, hoping to raise enough money to buy the fish stall she currently rents at the markets where she sells fish.
