Continuing with our monthly commitment to Kiva, Generation Wonder made the following loans for the months of September to December 08.  Loaning is becoming even easier because many of our initial recipients have paid back their loans.  This means we have Kiva Credit to keep making loans, all from our initial investment. <item>  <title><![CDATA[April 08 Kiva loan]]></title>   <description><![CDATA[This month we again scoured the pages of www.Kiva.org to find an entrepreneur to connect with.  We found the Masanda group, a group of five ladies from Uganda selling pre-loved clothing.  I think we like to call that &quot;vintage&quot; over here??!  Either way, it's a good recycling effort!  So the loan they request is to purchase more used clothing for re-sale.  We like their style!

He requested a loan to help with the customs, handling and transport costs of clearing his inventory of tyres from the port of Dakar.  We fully empathised with the cost of customs so we very eager to give this recipient a hand up.

Not everyone gets to be a kid. 
Unicef estimated that in 2005,  of the 2.2 billion children living in the world, 1 billion lived in poverty.  That means every 2nd child is living in poverty.  Statistically, if you have 2 children, that's like one of your children living a life of justice, and one living in poverty. A billion children will miss out on their childhood because of  poverty (www.unicef.org).
